Project to improve damaged house of young children ‘Foat, Gug and Leo’

Foat; eldest brother is not in good health. Father took him to meet the doctor one day and found that he is in G-6-PD. G6PD deficiency is an inherited condition in which the body doesn't have enough of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, or G6PD, which helps red blood cells (RBCs) function normally. This deficiency can cause hemolytic anemia, usually after exposure to certain medications, foods, or even infections.

A leader of the family, father works for all family members by collecting recyclable waste and plastic items and sell it to local dealer shops. The father has his own small piece of land and used his own saving money to build a house for everyone. It is good to have a house, but in fact the constructed house is only a wall to cover inside places. Inside, there is nothing but soil ground. It’s easy to produce dust that makes harm to health, especially to the 3 young children. May be this is the cause of bad hygienic condition; dirty clothes and bodies of the children. The father said ‘my money all gone with the house construction’. FCYD Foundation proposed to help him to improve the house but needed his commitment to develop his children’s hygienic and health condition. He accepted…

We discussed with local authority; Hai Sok Sub-district Administrative Organization to find our possibility of the house improvement. For the best benefit of the children, it is agreed to improve the house condition for the sections and parts in priorities e.g. ground floor, toilet and kitchen as well as partition for a new room and front areas. FCYD Foundation will be responsible for required budget and local authority will take care of ‘community labor’; not to hire business contractor but ask for help from community people to do the improvement work together.

We expect to start the improvement work as soon as possible in April. For those who want to help the children, you can donate to buy construction materials. Please see details of ‘Donate’ in the last picture.

This time, FCYD Foundation gave good clothes and some stuff to the children, presented a living allowance to the father for immediate assistance and asked him to arrange and clean his house before next time visit. Thank you for all donation to help the children and their family. Thank you
