Follow up a health rehabilitation of young girl ‘Plup’

August 2016, we first visited and met young girl’ Plup’ at her house. She was 4 years old and could not be able to stand up and walk due to some physical and leg’s problem. Later after medical diagnosis, she has been in a disease and symptom of Spastic CP (Cerebral Palsy). Spastic cerebral palsy is a developmental disorder caused by damage to the brain before birth, during delivery, or within the first few years of life. This condition prevents the normal development of motor function. Spastic CP is characterized by jerky movements, muscle tightness and joint stiffness.

Parents of young Plup moved to work and live in the south of Thailand since she was newly born. Her aunt has taken care of her since then up to present. It is not easy at all for the aunt to do this job due to her family’s poor condition. Also, she needs to bring young girl to meet the doctor and check up every time to medical appointment. She needs to pay for travelling to the hospital in town as well as regional hospital ‘Srinakarind Hospital’ in Khon Kaen province. Today, health of young girl Plup is getting better but she can’t walk by herself. It needs to practice in every day by use of the walking helper. This is the new one, the old one was made of bamboo (see in the attached link). We talk with her, she answered and did some writings and drawing. This is really good that the disease & symptom is not affected to her brain and learning ability.

FCYD Foundation gave her stationeries, drawing books, colour pencil and dolls. She is much happy. “Be patient and keep practice the walk, one day you will be able to walk by yourself… Ok” She smiled and nodded.

Thank you for all donation to help young girl and her aunt. Thank you
