Home visit to young girls; Mai and May

Young girl Mai is a younger sister of May, they are 5 and 10 years old. Both of them are not in good health due to some sickness. Parents took them to the hospital and eventually found out that, Mai is sickness from leukemia and May is from congenital heart disease. Their physical health conditions are not good enough to go to school. So they stay at home. Father is only the one who works for all family members, he works for daily wages from rubber plant farm. Mother is in need to take care the two girls and a young boy all the times.

The two girls are now under the medical service of governmental hospitals in Udornthani and Khon Kaen provinces. They are allowed to come back home and needed to meet the doctor per as to agreed appointment. Thailand is good at present to provide basic health service for all Thai people. However, for some personal expenses, people need to pay e.g. travelling, food & accommodation (for parents). Each time to meet the doctor, it requires not only a day but many days.

The day we visited the two girls, head teacher of childcare center Baan Nong Kaew; Kru Rat shared her experiences how to take care the girls at home and gave them encouragement as well as some living allowance to mitigate the hard situation. The girls are much happy with toys and dolls. Thank you for donation of dolls and toys.
