Parents training No.1/2562; Baan Kham Duang Childcare Center, Baan Phue, Udornthani
In villages of upper Northeastern of Thailand, persons who take care young children in everyday living are not their parents but grandparents. Many of them are in elderly age and less potential to do the take care duty. Parents training is aimed to educate them to understand basic knowledge and skill how to take care and assess developmental growth of the children.
Key training content is referred to a Development Surveillance and Promotion Manual published by Ministry of Public Health. Focus is about food and nutrition for young children age from 2-4 years old including simple steps and method of children health assessment and child-communication.
“Why we have kids?” is one topic of group discussion. It is as experience sharing among parents and grandparents to re-consider all things involving in taking care their children and looking forward to their future.
